Command: Fiber Splicing
Menu path: Fiber Optics > Fiber Splicing

Functional description: The command opens the window (editor) where (among other things) the method of fiber splicing on certain nodal elements is defined, as well as the purpose plan on each separate fiber.

Basic (but not the only) purpose of Fiber Splicing command is to enable fiber splicing in the nodal elements of fiber optics: equipement and splice points. Since these elements are of different nature, further procedure once this command is applied to them also differs.

After running the command, the program expects us to select the network nodal element in which fibers are to be spliced.

By selecting distribution frame, Fiber Splicing [Distribution Frame] window opens where further operation continues. Besides splicing, further operation may include defining fiber circuit name, organizing distribution frame structure, preparation for printing, etc.

The window is described in detail on Window: Device Box page,
and the very procedure of splicing is described on Fiber Splicing in FDB page.

By selecting splice point, Fiber Splicing [Splice Point] window opens where further operation continues.
